Hirooka
Hirooka is a character in The 25th Ward: The Silver Case. He is the coroner for the 25th Ward Heinous Crimes Unit.
Personality
Hirooka is an eccentric coroner. He is shown to be a professional and takes his work seriously, and has a more understanding personality compared to some of his erratic colleagues. Despite his mild-mannered demeanor, Hirooka is actually quite disturbed, and has amassed a large collection of snuff films as a hobby. He differentiates himself from the "weirdos" who share his interest, claiming to use the films to face death head on.
History
The 25th Ward
Hirooka first appears in #01 new world order, investigating the death of Milu Yuzuki at the Bayside Towerland apartment complex. He was present for the initial investigation at Milu's apartment with Shinko Kuroyanagi until fellow detectives Mokutaro Shiroyabu and Sakaki arrived at the scene, along with Uehara, who was posing as a building manager. Kuroyanagi scolds the two for being late, but Hirooka assures her that Sakaki will be useful during the autopsy. While examining the body, Hirooka comments that the exaggerated blood splatters that covered the room were unusual. After the group discovered beams of light shining through the room from the ceiling, Hirooka urged that Uehara be moved outside where it's safer. It is unknown where Hirooka went during the ensuing fight between the detectives and the deliverymen, but he was shown to have survived.
In #02 good looking guy, Hirooka participated in the investigation into the apparent suicide of Yasushi Kamijo. Hirooka spoke to Shiroyabu over the phone, discussing the key found in Kamijo's stomach. He gave the key to the bike courier Takahashi to be delivered to the detectives at Kamijo's residence. After a large amount of keys was discovered in the shelter in Kamijo's back yard, Hirooka worked with the forensic team to analyze them. The newly recruited Uehara is sent to meet with Hirooka at the forensic center. Hirooka comments on Kamijo's collection of keys, likening it to his own collection of snuff films. He tells Uehara that the keys belong to coin lockers, with one belonging to a recent model present at Central Station. He gives the key to Uehara to be delivered to Kuro, and tells him that he will contact them if anything else comes up.
