Michiru Kosaka
Michiru Kosaka is a minor character in The Silver Case. He is an officer of the Central Police Department, and a subordinate of Daikichi Sakaguchi. He is a major character in The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, seemingly orchestrating the events that are transpiring in Ward 25.
Appearance and Personality
Kosaka is a straight-forward and competent investigator. He is passionate about the methods behind investigation, embracing the "old" style of investigation used by the Central Police Department. However is also willing to accept other perspectives, and begins to appreciate the methods of the HCU as well. Kosaka has romantic feelings towards Sakura Natsume, and still has them long after their relationship ended. By the time of The 25th Ward, Kosaka's demeanor changed considerably, and he became a believer in Kamui Uehara's power to Kill The Life in Ward 25. Despite this shift, Kosaka was still shown to have love for Sakura.
History
The Silver Case
Michiru Kosaka first appears in case#3:parade, as a subordinate of Daikichi Sakaguchi during the investigation into the kidnapping of Chairman Yukimura. He arrived after the meeting to show a video that had been sent by the kidnappers. He stated that the video confirmed that Yukimura was alive, but that nothing was revealed about their motive. At Snow Tower, he introduced himself to Tetsugoro Kusabi, Sumio Kodai and Akira, and said there was no news. He pointed out the Yukimura Zaibatsu boardmembers nearby, and their growing resentment towards the Chairman. Kosaka later contacted Kusabi, begging him to assist in the investigation. Kosaka went on to provide support for Akira during the diamond exchange with the kidnappers. After the incident Kosaka met with Kusabi at Precinct 24, thanking him and giving Sakaguchi's regards. He said that he began to understand the Heinous Crimes Unit's methods of disposal as a method of solving crimes, and pledged himself to finishing the investigation.
Early in 2000, Kosaka and Sakura Natsume spoke to Kusabi at Lounge Tamura to tell him about the death of Uminosuke Hachisuka and the return of Kamui. They left to the scene shortly after.

Kosaka continued to work closely with the Heinous Crimes Unit in the coming years. At some point he also entered into a romantic relationship with Sakura. He participated in the "Lovers", "Animal Hunting", and "Cut Doctor" cases. By 2003, his relationship with Sakura had ended.
