Hatoba is a supporting character in ''[[Red, Blue, and Green]]''. He first appears in ''Red Out'', meeting with Akama at the [[Union Hotel]] during the events of {{CR|5}}. They're brought coffee, and debate how terrible the coffee is and how to make it taste like the Italian dessert affogato. They move on to discuss the state of their teammate Shiroyabu, who underwent a change after coming into contact with Kurumizawa. Hatoba recalls his conversation with him at the rally of [[Mayor Mikoshiba]], where he could sense his bloodlust. Hatoba tells Akama that Shiro is waiting in Room 303 of the hotel. In ''Blue Out'', Hatoba meets with Aoyama, who says that he was sent by Akama to back him up. Aoyama critcizes Hatoba for putting Akama in danger, and tells him that if Akama is killed, he would go after him.
