Jeane is a character in the No More Heroes series. He is Travis Touchdown's pet cat.

Appearance and Personality

Jeane is a gray cat with dark gray stripes and blue eyes. His breed is Scottish Fold. In No More Heroes, he is a small kitten, and wears a red collar with a bow. In No More Heroes 2, Jeane looks the same, but is now overweight and no longer wears a collar. After working out with Travis, he becomes thin again. In Travis Strikes Again, Jeane is heavier again. In the adventure game chapters of Travis Strikes Back, Jeane has a radically different appearance, with stylized anime eyes and hair, as well as an X-shaped scar on his face. In No More Heroes III, Jeane keeps his heavy appearance from the previous games.

Jeane initially has no personality, and acts as any normal cat would. In Travis Strikes Again, Jeane can now speak for unknown reasons, and frequently interacts with Travis. Jeane has a sarcastic and forward personality, expressing his dislike for characters like Kamui. He is also shown to rush into danger with little care. In No More Heroes III, Jeane is much more laid back, acting as a navigator for Travis.

History

Backstory

Jeane is a Scottish Fold kitten that was adopted by Travis Touchdown shortly before the events of the series. He named him after his half-sister Jeane.

No More Heroes

In No More Heroes, Jeane makes minor appearances. He can be seen in Travis's room at Motel NO MORE HEROES, walking around or sleeping in the background. At times he can also be seen dangling from the ceiling fan in Travis's bedroom. Jeane can be interacted with at any time, which will show an animation of Travis feeding, playing with, or relaxing with Jeane. When Travis leaves for his ranked match with Speed Buster, Jeane can be seen exiting the motel behind him. Travis spots Jeane after getting off the bus, to his surprise. Jeane appears during Thunder Ryu's duel with Speed Buster, walking by and distracting him, after which he is killed by Speed Buster's laser.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

In No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Jeane re-appears in much the same way as the first game, and can be seen inside Travis's motel room. Jeane has gotten fat from overfeeding, growing to be 24 pounds. By interacting with Jeane, Travis can now assist in his weight-loss. Feeding Jeane will raise his mood, which is then drained by exercise. By putting Jeane through a variety of workouts, he eventually gets down to 10 pounds. Now fit once again, Jeane does a flip through the air, inspiring Travis to learn a new move, the Step-In Slice.

Travis Strikes Again

In Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, Jeane lives in the trailer with Travis after he secluded himself in the Texas wilderness. He can mainly be seen lounging around the trailer. At times he will disappear and send Travis a fax, telling him to find him inside one of the Death Drive Mark II games. After finding him in all five locations, Travis receives the Ξ Chip, which can turn him invisible to enemies.

Jeane plays a larger role in Travis Strikes Back, accompanying Travis on most of his adventures. Notably Jeane is now shown to be able to talk. He first appears in #1: Absolute Zero, during Travis's meeting with Kamui Uehara at Nightmare Burger. Jeane finds Kamui creepy, but tells Travis to follow him since it's the only way to find the Death Balls. Later, he appeared at Beef Head to comment on Travis's ability to break the fourth wall. After Kamui left, Jeane said that he sensed something about him. In #2: Magic Tiger of the Mound, Jeane tells Travis to shorten the amount of text so as not to bore the gamers. In #3: National Census, Jeane headed with Travis to Romania after hearing the Dracula was in possession of a Death Ball. Jeane didn't get along with the horse Epona, and they fought the whole time. After arriving at Balbonia Caslte, Jeane immediately bolted inside, where they met Mondo Zappa. In #4: Modern Observation, Travis got a call from Kamui, which Jeane told him to ignore. Travis and Jeane traveled to Japan to visit the remains of the 25th Ward. After visiting Akihabara, they fell asleep at a hotel. They met Chillko at a train station, who took them to Dr. Juvenile's former home, the Ershiwa Long City. Jeane remained there while Chillko took Travis to meet Kosuke Kurumizawa. In #5: Hell's Chainsaw, Jeane commented on Travis's hate of IT as he was desrcibing Damon Riccitiello. They visited the Utopinia campus in San Jose, where they met Juliet Chesterfield. Jeane was with Travis when he barged into Damon's office and beat him. In #6: Quark-Gluon Plasma, Jeane and Travis visited Nightmare Burger again, where Travis was made to fight a group of assassins and Kamui. Jeane then went with Travis to Portland to meet the Death Ball technician Frank, and watched as Kamui parted ways. Jeane later commented on Frank referring to Dr. Juvenile as his daughter. Finally, Jeane scolded Travis for bugging out the visual novel. Jeane makes a small appearance in #7: On the Eve of War, being told to stay home by Travis after Shinobu's arrival.

Jeane makes an appearance at the end of the game, asking Travis if he brought him any souvenirs from Mars. He is heard telling everyone to be quiet once they start arguing following Shinobu's arrival.

No More Heroes III

Jeane returns in No More Heroes III, filling a role similar to the previous games. He can be found in Travis's room, and is part of a mini-game involving throwing a ball for him to hit back. Jeane's larger role comes in the story itself, where he acts as a navigator for Travis. He first appears after Travis lands on the floating UFO during FU's attack on Earth. He emerges in a floating bubble from Travis's Death Glove, telling him he's behind enemy lines. Travis questions if Jeane always sounded that way, since he now has a male voice. Jeane claims that this is always how he sounded. Travis and Jeane locate Mr. Blackhole's eggs, which hatch into a small alien that Jeane hisses at. Travis is teleported by the alien onto Mr. Blackhole's planet. Jeane later appeared inside Mr. Blackhole's "universe", and guided Travis to the enemy's location. Jeane appears throughout the game, usually at Travis's side before each of his ranked battles, where he comments on the current situation. After FU's death, Damon attacked Travis with his Destruction Damon Dead-end mech. Jeane told Travis to call Glastonbury, but Travis told him it was decommissioned. Jeane asked Juvenile to help, and she announced the arrival of the Arsenal Rollout Model. Travis and Jeane boarded the Arsenal and fought Damon. Separated from the mech, Travis, Jeane, and Damon arrived at the edge of space, where Travis and Damon had their final battle.

Jeane appeared alongside the others at Badman's funeral, which was interrupted by the arrival of King Jess Baptiste V, who was quickly dispatched by the arrival of Jeane Touchdown and Hunter Touchdown from the future.
