A flight attendant wakes Tokio, and tells him that his alarm has been going off. On his PC, Tokio reads an email warning him that The Bat is always watching. Another is from Slash, who says that they were killed, but continues to exist as a computer program. He receives another email from an unknown sender, which asks what would happen if people stopped dying. It says that the growing number of humans would cause them to start killing eachother, but that even when reduced to chunks of meat people would continue to live, until finally only a soul remains. His PC is flooded with emails, and Tokio wonders what kind of curse this is supposed to be.

A young girl named Catherine wakes him up, telling him he was having a nightmare. She asks why he's crying, to which Tokio replies that it's just because his eye is weird. She asks what the curse he was talking about is, and about the nature of his eye. Since Tokio won't tell her, she decides to guess what kind of curse it is. She asks if he stole the eye, and scraped it out with a knife. She says that she learned by reading his mind, and he questions if she is real or something just created by the lingering consciousnesses. He corrects her by saying it was actually a spoon that he used to scrape out the eye. He tells her that the eye gives him the curse of immortality. The eye simply halts his mortal programming, and if left like that long enough will create strange effects. He believes that her appearance is part of the curse.

Tokio confirms that he stole the eye from his father, but says that it's more like the eye took him over and chose him as its new host. He says that the past can't be escaped, and loops around itself forever. She asks if the past is something meant to be killed. An announcement sounds, saying that the flight will soon be arriving as Lospass Island. Catherine tells him that his curse will be replaced with a blessing, and to go back to sleep. Tokio smiles as the plane continues along its path.
