Yuka Kawai is a character in The Silver Case. She is a worker at a digital media sales firm.
Appearance and Personality
Yuka is a young woman of average height and build. She is seen wearing a grey shirt and white coat, with black pants. She is described as being beautiful.
Nothing is known about her personality, but she was presumably in love with Kamui Uehara.
History
Yuka worked at a digital media sales firm, and was in charge of the Kamui projects. At some point she fell in love with Kamui and gave birth to his child. Between 3:00 and 4:00pm on March 28th, 1999, she was murdered in her home by Ayame Shimohira for having been in a relationship with Kamui. She was killed with a customized harpoon gun, with two shots to the head and one shot each to the chest and stomach. Her body was moved and hung up by her leg above the sewer lines near Babylon Street. Ayame framed the crime to make it appear that Kamui had committed it, while she hid him in her studio Gladiolus.
Approximately twelve hours after her death, her body was discovered. The Heinous Crimes Unit investigated the scene and discovered a doll in the sewer underneath her body, possibly left by Ayame. Akira witnessed the appearance of a lingering consciousness, and then heard the doll deliver a cyptic message about a "bright and dark plaza" where "everyone played together in harmony and killed eachother". Sumio Kodai and Tetsugoro Kusabi saw the doll, but did not hear it speak. Ayame planned to kill Yuka and Kamui's child, but couldn't bring herself to do it. Yuka's child was later placed in a facility.
Trivia
- It is unclear which of Kamui's children is hers, but it may be the older girl, who mentions she is looking for her missing doll. It is unknown if this has any connection to the doll found in the sewer, but it is the only other mention of a doll in the chapter.
