Human Entertainment Inc. (ヒューマン株式会社, Hyūman Kabushiki Gaisha), formerly known under the merger name Sonata, was a video game developer and publisher established originally in 1983 (as TRY) by Choshiro Suzuki. The company's foundation was the result of a merger between TRY Corporation and Communicate, Inc, and rebranded from Sonata to Human Entertainment in 1989. The company's main office was located in Kichijoji Minamicho, Musashino-city, Tokyo, where they would co develop studios with companies such as Bandai and HuneX between 1990-1992. They were known to create a variety of liscened games, racing games, the Fire Pro Wreslting series, the acclaimed Clock Tower series, and the Twilight Syndrome series.

Involvement with Goichi Suda

After applying to both Atlus and Human in 1993, 25 year old Goichi Suda recieved a job at Human Entertainment, working on the Fire Pro Wrestling Series. In late 1995, he was placed in charge of the nearly completed horror adventure game known as Twilight Syndrome, after the game's anonymous director allegedly suffered a nervous breakdown and ceased all involvement with the project. Suda would help complete the game's scenario until it's release in March of 1996. The game's sequel, Moonlight Syndrome, would be written and directed by Goichi Suda. He would leave the company soon after and form Grasshopper Manufacture in March of 1998.

Bankruptcy and Legacy

During the collapse of the arcade market in the late 1990's, Human would officially withdraw from the industry in 1998. After filing numerous product patents for a variety of Japanese companies, Human would cancel their presentation at the 1999 TGS (Tokyo Game Show), and soon after file a settlement to restucture accrued debt of 3.79 billion yen, effectively firing all their staff, then selling off their existing properties. In 2000, their settlement was terminated, and the company was made completely bankrupt. The Twilight Syndrome and Fire Pro Wrestling series's rights were sold to Spike, who accquired various Human staff. Alongside this, the Clocktower IP was sold off to Capcom, both corporate buyers would produce a variety of products related to the aforementioned series. Alongside their game rights, Human's Vocational Training School was managerially taken over by Dodwell BMS.
