Dark Star
Dark Star is a character in No More Heroes. He is the first-ranked assassin in the United Assassins Association.
Personality and Appearance
Dark Star is a middle-aged man with purple hair and a beard. He wears a black suit with golden armored arms and a cape. He is easily recognized black and gold helmet with large horns, which can open to reveal his face. On his forehead the horse-shaped hilt of the Horse Saber is mounted, which he can remove to act as his weapon.
He claims to be Travis's father, and urges Travis to unearth the repressed memories he has of his past. Dark Star's claim is heavily disputed. He does seem to have detailed knowledge of Travis's parents death, but the idea that he is actually Travis's father is quickly dismissed by Travis and Jeane. He seems to just be a pawn to make Travis remember, possibly arranged by Jeane or Sylvia Christel.
History
Backstory
Nothing is known about Dark Star's past, or if anything he states about himself is genuine. He does seem to be an assassin, and is ranked first in the United Assassins Association.
No More Heroes
Dark Star appears when Travis Touchdown arrives at the outskirts of his castle for their ranked match. He welcomes Travis, calling him his son. He asks if Travis remembers him, unsheathing his giant Horse Saber beam katana from his helmet. He makes reference to having died in front of Travis, and reveals his face. Travis begins to remember the death of his parents at the hands of Jeane. Dark Star urged Travis to remember, finally unearthing Travis's repressed memories. Jeane then punched through Dark Star's torso from behind, killing him.

Trivia
- Dark Star is a parody of the Star Wars character Darth Vader. This can be seen through his name, appearance, exaggerated breathing, and claiming to be Travis's father.
