Juliet Dendrobium is a character in Romeo is a Dead Man. She is the missing girlfriend of Romeo Stargazer.

Appearance and Personality

Juliet appears to be a young brunette woman. Next to nothing is known about her, other than her mysterious disappearance.

Biography

Background

Juliet Dendrobium was a member of the Space-Time Police during their founding in 2030 A.D. However due to the nature of the organization, it is not known from what time period Juliet originated. Shortly after, Juliet was thrown into an unknown subspace during a time jump accident and trapped there. While in subspace, Juliet experienced transcendence over time, and formed a union with an expansive intelligence. Juliet was bestowed with otherworldly abilities, including replicating herself and mimicking other things. She could also "whisper" to others, giving them access to a fraction of her power. When she escaped from subspace, Juliet's powers caused a rift in space-time, after which she traveled back in time and began to appear in the future.

On September 5th, 2018, Juliet was discovered by Romeo Stargazer collapsed in the road on the outskirts of Deadford. Juliet begged Romeo to kill her, but her demeanor changed after hearing Romeo's name. Juliet appeared to have no memories, and was admitted to the hospital. After she was released, Romeo fell in love with her, and would take her out on dates to the local Night Owl diner. Romeo's sister Luna Stargazer grew suspicious of Juliet for sweeping away Romeo so quickly, but Romeo continued the relationship. Juliet eventually found a job at city hall, and proposed going on a long trip with Romeo. Romeo agreed to leave town with her, but on the day they were meant to elope, Juliet disappeared. That night, Romeo was fatally attacked by a White Devil, and was saved by his grandfather Benjamin Stargazer, becoming "Dead Man".

Romeo is a Dead Man

The Space-Time Police became aware of Juliet appearing in different time periods. The places that she appears become space-time locked, and then begin to rupture and disappear. As a result she is placed on the Space-Time Police's wanted list. Since Romeo had been in close contact with Juliet, he was recruited as a cadet, and given the mission to locate her. Romeo went on to encounter and destroy variants of Juliet across time periods; a monstrous Juliet that merged with a ferris wheel, a giant Juliet who'd turned into a witch, and a combat Juliet armed with demonic modifications.

Romeo tracks down a variant of Juliet in the Forest of Honnêamise, and finds her roasting a marshmallow over a campfire. Juliet questions how many of her he has killed so far, and the two debate the nature of killing. She claims that her goal is to destroy the world so that it will be renewed and purified, creating a New World Order. Juliet slits her throat and removes her own head, throwing it into the campfire. Her headless body then mutates into a grotesque giant form, Everyday is Like Monday. Romeo battles the monster, killing it with a flying dropkick.

• Juliet's last name is a reference to the RX-78GP03 Gundam "Dendrobium", featured in the OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.
