Thunder Ryu
Thunder Ryu is a character in No More Heroes. He is a Yakuza member who acts as a trainer for Travis Touchdown.

No More Heroes
Thunder Ryu is the owner of Thunder Ryu Bldg. and offers to train Travis Touchdown when he arrives and manages to impress him. Thunder Ryu later appears in Speed City, fighting Speed Buster in a duel before Travis's arrival. Thunder Ryu is distracted by Jeane, and is killed by Speed Buster's laser. Thunder Ryu's last words were words of encouragement for Travis.
Despite being dead, Thunder Ryu's spirit remains in the Thunder Ryu Bldg. and continues to train Travis. Later, when Travis is traveling through the Forest of Bewilderment, he is guided by Thunder Ryu's spirit who tells Travis which direction to go before giving him a letter that acts as his final message to Travis, before he fades away.
