Thunder Ryu is a character in No More Heroes. He is a Yakuza member and former wrestler who acts as a trainer for Travis Touchdown.
Personality and Appearance
Thunder Ryu is a middle-aged Japanese man. He is always dressed in a black business suit with slicked-back black hair. He wields D.O.S., a yellow-bladed beam katana resembling a shirasaya. As a Yakuza, Thunder Ryu has an intimidating personality, but sees potential in Travis and encourages him to keep fighting. He is skilled in sword-fighting and pro-wrestling moves, knowledge which he passes on to Travis through often homo-erotic training sessions.

Thunder Ryu is the owner of Thunder Ryu Bldg. and offers to train Travis Touchdown when he arrives and manages to impress him. Thunder Ryu later appears in Speed City, fighting Speed Buster in a duel before Travis's arrival. Thunder Ryu is distracted by Jeane, and is killed by Speed Buster's laser.
