Helter-Skelter's past is mostly unknown. His mother is implied to have been an assassin, and he has a younger brother named Vincent, who he gives money to once a year to pay for his schooling. He works as an assassin known as "The Drifter", and came to be ranked eleventh in the United Assassins Association.

Helter-Skelter met up with Vincent at a bar, where he drops off his annual bag of money. They discussed the danger of his job, with Helter-Skelter saying he didn't want Vincent to become like him or his mother.
