killer7 is an action-adventure game originally designed for the Nintendo GameCube, written and directed by Goichi Suda and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. It was released in 2005 on GameCube and PlayStation 2, and later received an HD PC port in 2018. killer7 was created as part of a project to develop original GameCube games called the Capcom Five; of the five games in the project, killer7 was the only one not to be developed by Capcom.

Gameplay
killer7 has very unique action-adventure gameplay that combines first-person shooting, on-rails adventure exploration, and rudimentary puzzle solving. Designed specifically for the unique layout of the GameCube controller, most movement in killer7 can be accomplished only by holding the A button (different buttons may apply for other controllers on other platforms), which causes your player character to move forward on a set path until they reach a junction. At a junction, various options to select appear on the screen, such as paths, objects to examine, or characters to talk to. Pressing the B button will cause your character to turn around instead, letting you go back the way you came. These various paths and junctions make up the layout of the game's various areas. This method of moving from set point to set point to interact with points of interest is reminiscent of the gameplay of The Silver Case.

When the player has to engage with enemies (almost always the Heaven Smile), holding the R trigger will enter aiming mode, causing your character to pull out their weapon and enter a first-person viewpoint. The reticle at the center of the screen can be moved around with the control stick and fired with the A button, similar to other first-person shooter gameplay, except you are not able to move your position while aiming. Additionally, Heaven Smile are typically invisible by default, and must also be scanned using the L trigger before they become vulnerable.

The player has access to the various personae of the Smith Syndicate, who they can switch between at whim, as long as the persona in question has been awakened in the current stage. Each character has a different weapon and other statistics, meaning they are each best suited to different situations. They all also have their own special moves, which can for the most part be activated with the Y button; these special moves are key to solving various environmental puzzles that the player comes across. However, most special moves can't be used without the use of thin blood, which must be gathered (along with thick blood) by killing the Heaven Smiles. Different methods of killing them (such as hitting them in their glowing weak spots) will reward the player with different quantities of the types of blood. Thin blood can also be used to heal the player's health, which is represented by an eye; a more open eye indicates more health remaining.

Thick blood can be turned into serum by the Mad Doctor in Harman's Room, a recurring area that the player uses to save their game, awaken personae and view tips from Iwazaru. Serum is a form of experience points that can level up the personae's statistics, causing them to perform better and unlocking new abilities. The persona of Garcian Smith is special, and cannot be switched to in normal gameplay, only in Harman's Room. When one of the other personae is killed in combat, their severed head will be left at the scene of their death and the player will be taken back to the last Harman's Room visited. If Garcian is brought to this scene, he retrieves the head and returns to the Room, where the persona can be revived. However, if Garcian himself is killed in combat, the game is over and the player must load a saved game.

Plot
Development
killer7 was one of the titles in the Capcom 5, a planned set of five Capcom releases as Gamecube exclusives, overseen by Resident Evil producer Shinji Mikami. Killer7 was the last game to release out of the set, on June 9th, 2005. A censored release for the Playstation 2 was also released due to the struggling sales of the Capcom 5.
Targets
* Target01: Sunset
* Target02: Cloudman
* Target03: Encounter
* Target04: Alter Ego
* Target05: Smile
* Target06: Lion
Summary
killer7 takes place in an alternate history where world peace was said to be achieved in 1998 through the banning of nuclear materials, airplanes and the internet. The world entered an era free of terrorism and constructed intercontinental expressways bridging the various continents of the world. However, in 2003, a United Nations treaty signing was attacked by a terrorist organization of zombie-like suicide bombers known as Heaven Smile. Called in to combat this threat was a group of incredibly powerful assassins known as the Smith Syndicate, a.k.a. the killer7, who appear to be the alternate personalities of the wheelchair-bound Harman Smith.

The game opens in the year 2010, deep into the Heaven Smile threat, and follows the killer7 as they take on various missions that are related to the war against Heaven Smile and their leader, Kun Lan, an old friend and enemy of Harman's. Heavily linked to this conflict is the relationship between the United States of America and Japan, which has been exacerbated by Japan's ruling political organization, the nationalist United Nations Party.
Relation to Kill the Past
killer7 has some characters and plot points that originate in the games known as "Kill the Past", seemingly placing it as a Kill the Past game. However, in its backstory, the internet and airplanes were banned shortly before the events of The Silver Case and Flower, Sun, and Rain, games which rely on the internet and airplanes, respectively, as major parts of their stories. Because of this, it seems that killer7 takes place in an alternate timeline; this is confirmed by Suda himself in an interview in Hand in killer7, where he says that he writes the stories with one big world in mind, but that the settings are different due to incompatible timelines. It is suggested by Jaco's Report that the timeline may have been deliberately split in-universe, referring to a point in time where "history became maligned". Glimpses of the killer7 characters in the normal Kill the Past timeline are shown in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.
Development
Further works
Two works connected to killer7 were released shortly after the game was released: a companion book called Hand in killer7, which contained numerous plot details that go beyond what is seen in-game, as well as developer interviews and various other bits of content, and killer is dead, a serial novel published in a magazine that stars cut character Shigeki Birkin. killer is deads final chapter was never written, but the character's story did get a continuation of sorts in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.

Suda has gone back and forth on whether he would want to develop a direct sequel to killer7. However, he has expressed interest in making a "complete edition" of killer7 in which various scenes that were cut at the storyboarding stage would be developed and put back into the game.
}}Tokio Morishima is the protagonist of the Placebo storyline in The Silver Case and The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, as well as a minor but important character in Flower, Sun, and Rain. He is a freelance investigative journalist initially tasked with investigating the infamous Kamui Uehara but soon finds himself immersed in the numerous conspiracies of Ward 24, Lospass Island and eventually Ward 25.

Appearance and Personality
Tokio is a rather odd man prone to bouts of complaining and laziness, but despite this, he is considered a quality journalist. He has an intense fixation with his pet turtle, Red, and is rather socially awkward, especially around women. His appearance in Transmitter shows him with spiky blonde hair, soft features wearing a leather jacket and cargo pants. This is inconsistent with his appearance in Placebo, which shows him with dark hair and sharper features, most likely as a byproduct of his skewed perspectives in Placebo's artwork - however, his appearance in Flower, Sun, and Rain seems to be consistent with his Transmitter design. In The 25th Ward, both his personality and appearance have changed considerably; he has grown a short stubble, wears a black muscle shirt and seems to have bulked up considerably, along with more sharper facial features. In addition, his personality is far more detached and sullen.

Tokio seems to think of himself as cool at first, but is often berated by other characters and has an unprofessional conduct with his client. At this time he also often acts out of self-interest, getting in touch with people for his own gain. As the series goes on, the experiences he goes through and his continually being used as a pawn by higher forces leave him progressively more and more depressed. However, he appears to have recovered somewhat by the time of 6, in which he acts as a mentor figure to Yuki Shimohira.

Tokio apparently feels compulsed to keep a diary of some sort at all times. At first it was the Morishima Memo, a text diary on his computer. During his stay on Lospass Island, he keeps another journal, one entry of which is published in The Lospass. In The 25th Ward, he posts on an online blog, but this is later taken over by Meru Yuzuki.

Tokio is subscribed to a few mailing services: Today's WORD, Weekly Lovers, and DNNET.

History
Childhood
Tokio is one of Kaoru Hachisuka's children and one of the first batch of Shelter Kids. Near the end of the procedures, he had an emotional outburst that caused the administration to wipe his memories and return him to normal society, where he was adopted by the Morishima family. Here, he grew up and began working as a police journalist for a magazine before later quitting and going freelance. According to his business card, he used to live and work in the real-life ward of Suginami before returning to Ward 24.
The Silver Case
Tokio receives an order from S. Inohana to report on Kamui Uehara. Over the course of 1999, Tokio tries to find information about Kamui as well as following the investigations of the Heinous Crimes Unit. He is assisted by his ex-girlfriend Erika Yukawa as well as other contacts on the internet. He soon encounters Akira at the Babylon Shopping Center in the middle of a traumatic experience, and associates him with that experience from then on. During the course of investigations, Tokio is threatened and spied on by the Bat. After just barely escaping the Bat with his life, Tokio flees his home, leaving Red in Erika's care. His actions during this time are unclear, but he runs into the HC Unit during their mission to execute Kamui. He also comes into possession of Kiyoshi Morikawa's notebook, and learns about the shelters. Tokio returns to his home near the end of 1999, now contending with numerous "lingering consciousnesses" in his head, which become magnified as a result of acquiring Uminosuke Hachisuka's silver eye. He tells Erika to continue taking care of Red as he will be heading away from the city for a while longer.

Flower, Sun and Rain
Following the events of The Silver Case, Tokio researches the creation of the silver eyes and discovers their origin. He heads to Lospass Island, arriving on May 2nd, 2001. Later, he meets Sumio Mondo on a boat connected to the caverns on Eleki Island. He explains what he discovered about the hyenas and the silver eye production, and also claims to be accidentally responsible for the problems with time. Tokio seems to be taking care of one of the hyenas at this time, which ends up being used by Elbow for mysterious purposes later on.

IMM Hospital
The 25th Ward
In The 25th Ward, following his memory removal, Tokio is noticeably more reserved and withdrawn, and seems to be almost unsure of himself in demeanor. Tokio is entrusted a mission from an unknown employer to research "what's going on in the 25th ward." Despite this, he still maintains his lifestyle of researching primarily through the internet, taking care of Red, and being mostly socially withdrawn. In the events of Placebo, Tokio becomes entangled in the mystery of finding out the secrets hidden behind the high-rise apartment complex where a mysterious amount of residents have been dying in rapid succession.

Through the high-rise apartment complex, Tokio discovers the background of the sex chat website Quarter's "Goddess," or, the most in-demand sex-chatter on the website. As he digs deeper into this mystery, he finds that Goddess is in fact three entities: Milu, Miru, and Meru, the latter two of which are in fact AI based on the personality and chatting habits of Milu.

WIP

Yuki
Years later in 2017, Tokio has long since regained his memories and become much more acquainted with his abilities as a medium. During December of that year, Tokio encounters a high school aged girl named Yuki Shimohira living in Hinashiro City. Yuki, like Tokio, is a medium. Tokio notes that Yuki's abilities are significantly stronger than his own, and so acts as a mentor for her in exorcising a spirit causing apparent suicides in a train station alongside Hiiragi.

Also by 2017, Tokio has seemingly entirely quit smoking cigarettes and now opts for an e-cigarette, or 'vape.'
Trivia
* Throughout The Silver Case, Tokio Morishima shows to be inept when it comes with computers. Often asking for help from others or falling victim to virus attacks. Masahi Ooka has spent his lifetime as a freelance writer, having worked on both books, videogame strategy guides, and articles throughout his early career. His services would be comissioned by Human Entertainment in 1997 for work on Moonlight Syndrome Truth File, creating original characters and mock style newspaper articles, as inspired by his at the time editor. Ooka's work on the Truth Files impressed Goichi Suda, who contacted him to work on The Silver Case, his first time writing for a videogame. From this point onward, Grasshopper Manufacture would frequently contract Ooka to work on their other games, often serving as co writer to Suda himself. His involvement after 2005 with Grasshopper was greatly reduced, but he returned for work on Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes in 2019, maintaining a good relationship with the company.

Goichi Suda (須田剛一), better known by the pseudonym SUDA51, is a Japanese writer, video game director and the chief executive officer of Grasshopper Manufacture. Beginning his career as a scenario writer for Human Entertainment, Suda departed five years later and formed Grasshopper in Suginami, Japan. He became popularly known as SUDA51, a pun on his given name Goichi, where go means five in Japanese and ichi means one. SUDA51's roles in the games made at his studio have varied over the years, however he has not limited his work only to Grasshopper titles.

Biography
Goichi Suda was born in the city of Nagano, in the Nagano Prefecture of Japan on January 2, 1968. Much of his early life has not been discussed publicly. In the early 1990s, Suda worked as a funeral director, though the stench disagreed with him and he continued to search for job openings elsewhere. One of the advertisements Suda responded to was for a position at video game studio Human Entertainment, where work was beginning on Super Fire Prowrestling III: Final Bout. Suda was convinced his knowledge and passion for wrestling would guarantee him the job, however his excitement weakened after weeks passed without a reply. Suda eventually received a response from Human, who hired him as a scenario writer largely because they needed more designers with wrestling knowledge. Suda promptly left his job as a funeral director.

Suda wrote scenarios for Super Fire Prowrestling III: Final Bout and Super Fire Prowrestling Special, the latter shocking players with an ending where the hero commits suicide. His somber themes flourished even greater when he had the opportunity to direct Twilight Syndrome: Search and Twilight Syndrome: Investigation, as well as write Moonlight Syndrome. These were the only five titles Suda worked on with Human, as following the release of Moonlight Syndrome in 1997, he left the company to form a studio of his own.

Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. opened its doors on March 30, 1998 in Suginami, Japan. Suda was joined at first by only three other designers forming Grasshopper's programming, art and sound departments. Severely restrained by a lack of manpower and resources, Grasshopper combatted this by developing a game engine which would make their text adventure stand out from traditional ones. Suda also wrote a story connecting it with his last game with Human, Moonlight Syndrome. Securing a publisher in ASCII Entertainment, Grasshopper released its first video game, The Silver Case, on October 8, 1999.

The Silver Case carried over some trademarks from the Twilight Syndrome series, as well as establishing several new ones which continue to echo through the games Grasshopper releases today. The Silver Case itself received spiritual sequels in the form of Flower, Sun, and Rain and killer7, with all three games collectively forming a body of work dubbed by players as Kill the Past. killer7 brought significant attention to Grasshopper and SUDA51 in 2005, as its affiliation with Capcom and Shinji Mikami garnered extensive media coverage including making the cover story for the April 2005 issue of Nintendo Power. While not commercially successful, the game exposed audiences outside Japan to Grasshopper for the first time, and is believed by many to be SUDA51's magnum opus.

Influences
Franz Kafka is among SUDA51's favorite authors. His favorite film is Paris, Texas, in which the lead character Travis Henderson is believed to have inspired the names of two SUDA51 characters – Travis Bell and Travis Touchdown. His favorite video game is said to be Another World.

SUDA51's passion for wrestling was instrumental in his hiring at Human Entertainment, where he began his career in video games. SUDA51 somewhat famously donned a luchador mask at killer7 promotional events and could also be seen wearing one in the No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle trailer. Wrestling plays various roles in several of SUDA51's works, particularly his Super Fire Prowrestling games and No More Heroes.
}}Italic titleFlower, Sun, and Rain (花と太陽と雨と) is an adventure game for the Sony PlayStation 2. It was directed by Goichi Suda and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. While the initial 2001 PlayStation 2 version was only released in Japan, a port to the Nintendo DS with the subtitle Murder and Mystery in Paradise (Neverending Paradise in Japan) was released around the world in 2008.

Gameplay
Flower, Sun, and Rain is a 3D adventure game in which the player controls their character in open environments, talks to characters and examines objects. Although the player can generally move anywhere within a given map, the plot progression is highly linear and there is usually only one thing they must examine to move on, and areas unnecessary for the current chapter cannot be entered. The majority of interaction comes in the form of puzzles that protagonist Sumio Mondo must solve using his computer-briefcase Catherine. Catherine can be plugged in to various objects or even characters; upon successfully doing so, the player must enter a numerical code. Entering the correct code will solve the puzzle and allow the plot to move forward.

The majority of these puzzles are solved by locating the code within an in-game guidebook known as The Lospass which is issued to Mondo early in the game. Generally, the code is in the form of a number tangentially or directly related to the object Catherine is being jacked into. Hints as to what page they should look for can, and sometimes must, be found by talking to characters in the environment. There are also certain instances in the game in which you do not play as Sumio Mondo, or when Mondo does not have access to Catherine; at these times, there are no numeric puzzles to solve as Catherine is not present.
Summary
The game opens with its protagonist, Sumio Mondo, having arrived on Lospass Island. Mondo explains to the player that he is a "searcher" who has the ability to find almost anything with the help of his computer-briefcase, Catherine. His mission on Lospass Island is only his next in a long line, but at the onset, he is not aware of the details of his assignment. Over the course of the opening chapter of the game, Mondo makes his way to the Hotel Flower, Sun, and Rain, where he will be staying over the course of his time on the island, and meets his client, the hotel manager Edo Macalister.

Edo explains Mondo's mission to him: a terrorist is targeting the island, and has placed their bomb on a plane leaving from Lospass Airport. Sumio's job is to find the bomb before the plane takes off so it can be removed. However, he is also warned that Lospass Island is home to a "crazy magnetic field" that causes a "certain instance of time" to repeat eternally. Mondo finds himself confused by this idea, but agrees to do his best to find the bomb.

However, on his first day of searching, he finds himself sidetracked by a mischievous spirit that his trapped him in a room called the Sealed Space. By the time he manages to deal with the issue, he sees the plane fly through the sky and explode; he was too late. Soon after, though, Mondo wakes up on his first day once again and is instructed to reach the airport to find the bomb as soon as he can. Mondo finds himself seemingly repeating the same day over and over, each day making it a little bit closer to the airport, but always having to deal with other problems that prevent him from ever reaching it in time.

Parallel to this are small vignettes starring a young girl who is also staying in the hotel, Toriko Kusabi, attempting to catch up to her runaway pet alligator, Christina.
Connection to The Silver Case
Although not advertised as such, Flower, Sun, and Rain actually takes place in the same world as The Silver Case (informally known as "Kill the Past"). While signs of this can be spotted from the very beginning - familiar names like "Sumio", "Kusabi", etc. - attention is not called to these connections, leaving players who have not played The Silver Case unlikely to notice.

More concrete connections can be found in The Lospass, a guidebook provided to Mondo and the player by Edo Macalister. The Lospass explicitly mentions Ward 24 and Sayaka Baian, in contexts that match up with their appearances in The Silver Case.

The connections become more and more apparent the longer one goes into the game. By the halfway point and onwards, there are several explicit references in the main story, and knowledge of the events of The Silver Case becomes necessary to follow the plot. The conclusion of the game directly ties into The Silver Case and establishes Flower, Sun, and Rain as a sequel.

Development
Flower, Sun, and Rain began development after the release of The Silver Case. As a reaction to the dark, depressing setting of The Silver Case, Flower, Sun, and Rain was given a light-hearted tone and took place in a bright, tropical setting, becoming a sort of opposite of The Silver Case. The numeric puzzles were designed to add thematic consistency to the work and resonate with Mondo's character, as opposed to the puzzles of The Silver Case which all used different systems. Most staff members from The Silver Case returned to work on Flower, Sun, and Rain. A Japanese DVD of "Anata no Tameni", the game's intro song, features early computer graphic mockups of characters and areas with a completely different style. The idea to reuse characters in very different ways was inspired by manga artist Osamu Tezuka, who used a technique known as his "Star System" to cast the same characters as different roles in different works. Despite this, Flower, Sun, and Rains returning characters from other works are the same characters in-universe.

The game's intro was filmed in Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, with a production team with as little as 10 tasked with creating the video. According to Goichi Suda, the videographers did not seem to hold games as a medium in a high regard, resulting in a poor experience on sight.

Along with the game, a companion book known as the Flower, Sun, and Rain Official Fan Book was released. This book contained a replica of the in-game book The Lospass, as well as walkthroughs, character profiles, art and comments on the story.
Murder and Mystery in Paradise
The 2008 DS port, Murder and Mystery in Paradise, was developed based on Suda's desire to see his pre-killer7 games released overseas. Suda and Grasshopper were not directly involved with the porting process, however. Due to the limitations of the DS, the graphical quality had to be lowered drastically to release it on the system, and a new version of the soundtrack had to be created. The game was not popular in the west due to these issues, as well as the fact that the plot relied on knowledge of The Silver Case, which would not be translated for several more years.

Some extra features were added to the DS port, such as the ability to open Catherine at any point of the game instead of only when a puzzle presents itself. Catherine's menu was also given new features such as a notepad and a "Goods" menu, which allows the player to peruse character and jack-in target profiles (the former being the same as those in the Official Fan Book). A number of optional puzzles, known as Lost and Found, were added to the game. Jack-in targets for these were hidden around most chapters, and a memo found at the beginning of each chapter gave the puzzles required to solve each input. Solving a Lost and Found puzzle rewarded you with its corresponding item, available to view in the Goods menu. An X Search System was added to the game allowing the player to more easily locate these items. Unlocking large amounts of items (among other feats) rewards the player with costumes for Sumio Mondo that can be worn using the closet in his room.

The scripts between the initial European release and the US release of the DS version are slightly different. In most cases, this is just grammar and terminology changes, i.e. changing "lorry" to "truck", or changing the spelling of characters' names to alternate romanizations. In one case late in the game, an explicit mention of a character being gay was altered to be more ambiguous ("batting for the other team").

Further re-release
It was announced at Hopper's 5 that Flower, Sun, and Rain, along with killer7, would receive ports or remasters at some point in the future.
}}Shinko Kuroyanagi is a character in The 25th Ward: The Silver Case. She is a member of the 25th Ward Heinous Crimes Unit known for her incredibly vulgar and aggressive personality. This has earned her the nickname "The Japanese Dirty Harry".

Appearance and Personality
Kuroyanagi is a woman of average height and build with black shoulder length hair. She wears bright red lipstick, a darkly colored leather coat riddled with various patches, tall boots and grayish dress pants, and a bustier-like white top. She also sports a black necklace of a horse.

Aggressive, bull-headed, and vulgar, Kuroyanagi is a confident and commanding woman. Despite her brash attitude and cavalier attitude towards rules, she is a competent investigator. She also holds multiple part-time jobs outside of the HCU for fun, and, as a bouncer, for the ability to hold an HCU-prohibited revolver. Kuroyanagi swears openly, often criticizing her partner Mokutaro Shiroyabu harshly. In stark contrast to the partners seen in The Silver Case's Transmitter, Kuroyanagi harbors little warmth for Shiroyabu, even offering to kill him herself when the time comes. She does, however, have a soft spot for her superior Hatoba-- the only person on the HCU capable of reining Kuroyanagi in. She proposes that they run away together, and later fights to defend him in 7. She seems to treat women with more affection than she does men, admitting to a liking for "cute girls".

History
Backstory
Kuroyanagi mentions during the 2 investigation that she grew up in the shelter, implying that she is part of the Ayame Maspro line of the Shelter Kids Policy. At one point she joined the 25th Ward Heinous Crimes Unit, while also working a series of other jobs. In 2003, at the end of 6, she was made to take Mokutaro Shiroyabu on as her partner.

Correctness
Kuroyanagi first appears in 1, investigating the death of Milu Yuzuki at the Bayside Towerland apartment complex. On October 3rd, 2005, she waited at the crime scene, immediately scolding Shiroyabu and Sakaki once they arrived with Uehara, who was posing as the building manager. The group discovered small holes in the ceiling with beams of light coming through them. Kuroyanagi warned everyone to stay away, after which Sakaki was killed by a delivery man's pin stick. Kuro ordered Shiroyabu to run to the elevator to lure the enemy out while she provided backup. After Shiro was confronted by a delivery man in the elevator, Kuro approached and executed him from behind. She told Shiro not to hesitate in the future. Coming out of the elevator on the 76th floor, they encountered a large group of delivery men. Kuro and Shiro prepared themselves, and proceeded to kill all of them.

In 2, Kuro participated in the investigation into the death of Yasushi Kamijo. On October 11th, she appeared at Kamijo's residence with Shiroyabu and Uehara, as Shiro read aloud Kamijo's will, stating a key was hidden in his stomach. She lashed out at Shiro, telling him to make the coroner bring the key to them. In the backyard, she noticed that Uehara had a response to the word "Shelter", calling him irritating. The bike courier Takahashi arrived to deliver the key, who annoyed Kuro by asking for payment. After opening the shelter, they discovered a mountain of keys inside. Back at the HCU Office, she discussed the case with Hatoba, Aoyama, and Akama. She said that she believed the postal service was behind all of the recent events. Hatoba ordered Kuro and Shiro to search for the key. As Uehara left to meet Hirooka, Kuro made Shiroyabu wait while she went to the salon for a facial, saying the inside of the shelter was dirty. She arrived at the Central Station coin lockers, where they found another key with a photo of a woman. Shiro told her she was late, causing Kuro to explode at him. Kuro points out that Kamijo was a master of rules, and has set up rules for them to follow to learn the truth.

She brought the two to a manga cafe which doubled as a sex chatroom. She introduced them to Fukamichi, who told them the key was for Kamijo's room, where he used the handle "Good Looking Guy". Kuro accesses GLG's chat, and finds a video feed of another key. She ordered Shiroyabu to send Takahashi to find the key, and later spoke to her over the chat, first acting her to strip and then asking where she is. Takahashi revealed that she was in the next building over, where Kamijo was to be watched from to fulfill is exhibitionism. Kuro sent Shiro to meet Takahashi and retrieve the key. After Shiroyabu has the key appraised, they arrive at an apartment, where they find another key and photo. Kuro matches the key to a car in the parking lot, which automatically drives them to a house on the coast. Inside, they met Machiko, Kamijo's contract lodger. Kuro told Machiko that Kamijo was dead, and wasn't coming back. She told Kuro that she was connected to Kamijo, explained his past of as a diver, and told her that Kamijo was going to meet with the building administrator. She told Machiko not to give up hope, and took her gun from her. Later, Kuro told Shiro that Kamijo was trying to bring his past crimes to light, and said that finding the missing administrator was the final piece of the case.

In 3, Kuroyanagi and Shiroyabu begin their investigation into the building administrator, Kosuke Kurumizawa. On October 31st, they discovered a dead body at Gigazel Intersection, which had been dropped from the top of a building in a plastic bucket. Kuro deduces that it was done by Kurumizawa, to prove that he wasn't dead. She scolded Shiro for his lack of experience as an investigator, and told him that they have to handle the crimes that nobody will touch. The two separated while Shiro went after Kurumizawa. She met with Hatoba, and asked if he was leaving Shiro out to dry, and agrees with him putting his abilities to the test. Hatoba told her that the divers were working to assassinate Shiroyabu. Hatoba said he was worried about her, and she told him to stop talking. Kuro theorizes that the diver saw something he shouldn't have, and says she'll continue her investigation. She told him that Kurumizawa and Kamijo were alive, with Kamijo having eloped with Machiko. She asked Hatoba if he wanted to elope with her, which he brushes off. At the end of the chapter, Kuro met with Sumio Kodai at the Harakiri Batting Center to discus Kurumizawa. Their full meeting is shown in 4, where Sumio told her Kurumizawa is an observer with no physical body, and is just a harbinger of Kamui Uehara's spread through the 25th Ward.

In 5, Kuro is briefed by Hatoba on the death of Yuki Ishimura, which she is told is connected to Shiroyabu's disappearance. She and Uehara were ordered to go after the perpetrator. They arrived at the high-rise apartment where Ishimura lived. They split up, and she told Uehara to check every apartment in the building. During her investigation, Kuro found a postman attempting to enter an apartment to adjust the resident, who she killed by shooting in the head. She contacted Uehara over the radio, who had been killed by the recently death-filed Shiroyabu. Shiro told her that he met with Kurumizawa, and could sense that Uehara was Kamui. He tried to tell her something, before the radio went dead. Kuro spoke to Hatoba, who said that Shiro doesn't seem human anymore after having made contact with Kurumizawa, and left him to her. Finally, Kuroyanagi appeared before Shiroyabu at Ward 25 City Hall, after Kurumizawa disappeared. She told him to think for himself, and that he is not like Kurumizawa. Kuro reminded Shiro that he is a detective, whose duty is to investigate in the name of justice. The two left to go back into the field.

black out
In 7, Kuroyanagi is the first to interrupt the standoff between Akama, Aoyama and Hatoba. She seemingly allies herself with Hatoba, threatening both of her former colleagues without mercy before the arrival of Uehara. Alongside Hatoba she urges Uehara and by extension the player to select one of the 100 Endings. Kuroyanagi herself is featured prominently in these various endings, mercilessly and violently killing Uehara in many of them.
killer7 is an action-adventure game originally designed for the Nintendo GameCube, written and directed by Goichi Suda and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture.

Summary
killer7 takes place in an alternate history where world peace was said to be achieved in 1998 through the banning of nuclear materials, airplanes and the internet.

However, he has expressed interest in making a "complete edition" of killer7 in which various scenes that were cut at the storyboarding stage would be developed and put back into the game.
killer7 is an action-adventure game originally designed for the Nintendo GameCube, written and directed by Goichi Suda and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture.

Summary
killer7 takes place in an alternate history where world peace was said to be achieved in 1998 through the banning of nuclear materials, airplanes and the internet.

Appearance and Personality
It is unknown what MacAlister looked like.

MacAlister was a well rounded doctor, respect in the medical field by his colleagues for the majority of his life. He was a curious indivudal, who seemed to be fascinated by scientific mysteries, and believed in the supernatural. He was somewhat judgemental and well guarded at points, while also being well spoken, with a strong vocabulary. Towards the end of his life, he was deeply obsessed with the ability's of Harman Smith.

History
At some point in his life, Graham MacAlister studied to become a neurologist within the United States of America. In 1975, MacAlister traveled to Seattle via car to visit fellow doctor John Gibbon, but became lost in the downtown area, where he would end up encountering Harman Smith. Believing it to fate when Harman and his companion, Christopher Mills, forcibly entered his car, with the corpse of Dan Smith having been stuffed in the vehicle's trunk. Letting the members of the Smith Syndicate stay in his hotel room for reasons he didn't exactly understand, where Harman proceeded to revive Dan, and absorb his psyche. Utterly amazed by the ability before him, MacAlister begged to take notes from Harman on the specifics of his powers. Associating the power with dissociative identity disorder (DID), the doctor eventually coined a term for Harman's ability, dubbing it: Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon. The day following their encounter, MacAlister pleaded with Harman to become his personal doctor, which the Smith accepted, before presenting the medical community with his findings, which were widely rejected, possibly relegated to the realm of psuedoscience or the supernatural.

The negative reception of MacAlister's concepts led to him withdrawing from the the wider medical body, focusing more on his research. For the coming years, MacAlister would live in the confines of his hotel room in Seattle, becoming increasingly neurotic over his preoccupation with Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon. At some points, he would begin spontaneously shrieking and continue to decline in terms of mental health. In 1998, MacAlister's corpse was discovered inside his hotel room, having allegedly committed suicide by hanging. His psychological findings and encounters with Harman Smith were published after his death by Jack Foley in his work known as Seeking the Truth.

Appearance and Personality
As Girl at Immigration
The girl at immigration wore a modest bright red sundress, patterned by a variety of flowers and vegetation in the color white. She also wore a pair of black dress shoes. Her is a middling shade of brown (same as her eye color), her hair curtained on both sides of her face, reaching around to her shoulder. She wore a slightly pink blush on her face, and had pale skin.

Little is known about her personality, as she has no dialogue, but she appeared to be a quiet and put together teenager. She appeared visibly fearful when Curtis pointed his gun at her.
As AYAME Blackburn
AYAME wore a bright saddle brown school vest with a red tie, embroidered with a patch of a small figure wielding a cane. Below her vest, she wore a patched short yoke skirt, primarily a shade of bright scarlet red and a middle part stitched in the color of spring green, fixed with a large bow in the back. Her skirt was accompanied by a pair of dark violet over the knee boots with an assortment of buckles. Over her face, she wore an animegao kigurumi mask that had dark purple hair and subtly sparkling teal eyes. Underneath her mask, her hair was dyed a shade of red, and she had on matte rosy lipstick.

AYAME took her fictious role as "Chairman of the Educational Guidance Council" and her cosplaying persona of a "magical girl" type of character very seriously. She appeared to be a skilled killer, devoid of independent thought.

Abilities
Despite her age and relatively new status as an assassin, her training under Curtis made her agile and durable. She possesed strong capabilities in her marksmanship and wielding of her sub machine gun. She was especially quick under the coat of darkness, and adept at using her surroundings to her advantage.

Story
The Girl at Immigration, later known as AYAME Blackburn, presided in the United State's of America's Immigration Bureau Offices in the year 2011. When Curtis Blackburn attacked the Office, AYAME was in the building's service center area, sitting in a chair. Curtis slaughtered everyone else within the room, before turning his gun on AYAME. After the massacre, AYAME was kidnapped by Curtis and subsquently groomed into an assassin at his residence in Eastern Washington.

During the events of Target03:Encounter, AYAME traveled to an amusement park known as Ishiszaka Land, located in Northern Seattle. While there, she assisted Curtis in loading children onto a bus for his organ trade deals and sexual pleasure. When the Smith Syndicate arrived in the parking lot housing the bus, AYAME introduced herself before engaging in combat, shrouded by darkness. The Smith Syndicate managed to defeat AYAME, but she was able to retreat before they could finish her off, departing alongside the smuggling bus. Soon after, the Smith Syndicate infiltrated Blackburn's Residence, where AYAME confronted them in a room filled with shutters. Using them to her benfeit, she hid in the darkness and continuously shot at the Smiths, before finally being defeated, her mask falling off to reveal the deceased teenager's face.
* During the development of killer7, AYAME's design was exponentially different from her final appearance. She dressed in a costume similar to that of the titular Sailor Moon, in both it's clothing and hairstyle.
* Unlike other chapter bosses, AYAME is fought twice.
* The Smith Syndicate appears to be unaware of AYAME's past, showing no reaction upon seeing her face.
* AYAME's sub machine gun has a variety of attachments, including a laser sight and scope.

Appearance and Personality
Julia is a youthful woman with pale skin and brown eyes, who wears a navy blue business dress shirt, top partially unbuttoned, revealing a bright gray blouse. She also wears a pair of mid black heels, and an average length skirt that matches the color of her shirt. Her straightened hair is a dark shade of brown, parted towards her left as a slight bang falls over her left eye, whilst some curls stick out in the back of her hair wildly. She also wears a pair of prescription black rectangular glasses, and has a round golden necklace hung around her neck.

Her challenge of a duel to the Smiths made it clear she enjoys the act of murder, utterly devoid of emotion and confident in her chances against the group. After her death, Julia's remnant psyche and Hand in killer7 reveal that she was unhappy with her occupation, wanting to take a vacation. She also appeared dogmatic in her viewpoints, reffering to the Smiths as pets of the United States.
Abilities
A skilled assassin and spy, Julia decieved those at Restaurant Fukushima, earning the trust of Toru Fukushima. She was able to react quickly against Harman Smith after killing Toru, and was able to draw her pistols with immense speed. She also seemed to possess a possibly explosive device in her necklace.

Story
Julia Kisugi was sent by the Japanese Liberal Party to be hired as a secetary by Toru Fukushima, leader of the United Nations Party, after he proposed the removal of Japan from the Asian Security Treaty. Sometime prior to 2010, Fukushima moved to the United States of America, with Julia following suit and continuing her work. Shortly thereafter, 200 missiles were fired from an unknown location, targeted towards Japan. To see that the United States of America would use their countermeasure known as "the fireworks" to protect Japan. To do so, the Liberal Party ordered Julia to eliminate Fukushima in order to reverse Japan's exclusion from the Asian Security Treaty. The party also sought to retrive Toru's piece of the Yakumo Cabinet Policy. At Toru's restaurant in Washington D.C., staff were transformed into Heaven Smiles, and the Smiths arrived soon after. During the attack, Harman Smith confronted Fukushima whilst Julia served them sushi, only for her to shoot Fukushima in the head seconds later. Julia then attacked Harman, and challenged the Smiths to a duel. After a long and arduous fight, the Smiths defeated Julia, who parted with the threat that the Yakumo would destroy the United States, before biting her necklace, resulting an explosion that ended her life.

She possesed strong capabilities in her marksmanship and wielding of her sub machinegun.

* AYAME shares a first name with The Silver Case character, Ayame Shimohira.
Kasai wears a dark blue dress suit, fit with a white collar and red tie, alongside dresspants. He wears a standard pair of dress shoes, thick eyebrows, brown eyes, and appears to have balding gray hair. He also wears a of oval black framed glasses.

Kasai was a sentimental indivudal, enjoying life in Japan, considering the diner he met at with Garcian Smith as "homely". He spoke in a hushed voice, and did not seem to have a problem when presenting the Smith Syndicate with their target, Jean DePaul. His experience in America and Japan alike made him a calm, collected negotiator for the two nations.

Story
Hiro Kasai stayed in Washington D.C. as a transfer student during the 1900's, frequenting a local cofee shop, and was at somepoint recruited into Japan's Liberal Party. In the following years, Kasai would betray the Liberal Party, and come into contact with the United States. Sometime during 2010, being sent by Christopher Mills to inform the Smith Syndicate of their next target, International Ethics Committee assassin Jean DePaul. He met with Garcian Smith and attempted to engage in small talk before presenting a photo of Jean, pointing Garcian to the KAKU Building.

Months after the death of Jean DePaul and destruction of Japan, Kasai was placed in a set of bondage gear atop an unknown building in Washington D.C. by United Nations Party leader Kenjiro Matsuoka for betraying Japan during the events of Sunset. A wide eyed and off balance Kasai fell off the building's rooftop, dying instantly from a head wound as he struck a D.C. street.
}}Julia Kisugi is a minor antagonist and boss in killer7. She is an assasin of Japan's Liberal Party.
